A VR experience about trash, climate breakdown, and despair.

In The Waste Game, you are immersed in a beach that you have to save from pollution and global warming. Trash items are thrown at the beach, and you have to decide what to do with them: Burn them, Trash them, Recycle them, or Reuse them. Each action has a different impact and cost in terms of fossil energy consumption and trash reduction, the former gets translated to global warming increase, seen as a sea level rise, and the effectivity of the latter causes an increase or decrease of pollution. Play trying to balance your actions and survive as much time as possible.

(At the end there’s no way of winning the game with the current rules: unless we reduce the amount of generated waste, there’s nothing to do about it)

Built in Unity3d for the Cardboard headset, using GIMP for the image editing and Audacity for the sound editing.
